for patient selection guidelines.
RF ablation using the RITA System offers numerous benefits for
patients, including the following:
Flexible Application
An RF procedure using the RITA System can be performed percutaneously,
laparoscopically, or in an open surgical procedure.
Rapid Tissue Response
While other medical procedures require weeks or months to demonstrate
an effect, RITA® has a marked tissue response upon delivery
of the radiofrequency energy.
Single Session
Destruction by the RITA System of individual or multiple areas
of tissue of varying sizes are well tolerated and can usually
be performed in a single session.
Low Morbidity and Negligible
Complications
Most other approaches are reported to cause complications which
may include leukopenia, anemia, hemorrhage due to organ fracture,
patient intoxication, and other problems. RITA’s RF procedure
does not require the use of toxic chemicals, alcohol, or excessive
cold so complications are minimal.
Time and Cost Efficient
The RF procedure can result in reduced hospital stays and costs
less than many traditional treatment methods.
