Derek Lomas, M.D., Pharm.D.
Dr. Derek Lomas is an Assistant Professor of Urology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He graduated from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University and completed his Urology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Following residency, he spent a year as a Mayo Clinic Scholar which included fellowship training in London, UK with concentration on prostate cancer diagnostics, imaging, trans-perineal prostate biopsy, and focal therapy for prostate cancer.
Some of Dr. Lomas’ interests include prostate cancer diagnostics, risk stratification, prostate imaging, trans-perineal prostate biopsy including targeted biopsy, and focal therapy for prostate cancer.
Murugesan Manoharan, MD
Murugesan Manoharan, M.D., is a surgical Urologic oncologist specializing in the treatment of genitourinary cancers and serves as Chief of Urologic Oncology Surgery at Miami Cancer Institute. He also serves as the Chairman of the Department of Urology at Baptist Health South Florida and a Professor of Urology at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, Florida International University. He is a renowned leader in the treatment of Prostate, Kidney, Bladder cancer and other urologic malignancies. Dr. Manoharan is an expert in the field of Minimally invasive surgery including robotic prostatectomy, robotic kidney surgery , Robotic bladder removal and neobladder reconstruction. He specializes in other minimally invasive ablative cancer procedures such as HIFU therapy, Cryotherapy and Nanoknife procedure to treat prostate cancer. He was one of the first urologists in the U.S. to perform robotic bladder removal surgery and reconstruction of neobladder using a pfannensteil incision. Dr. Manoharan’s research interests include stem cell applications, biomarkers, and cancer outcomes.
He has extensive experience training medical students, residents and oncology fellows. He has won many awards for his teaching and clinical excellence as well as his important research work. He serves as an editorial reviewer for several scientific publications. He is also widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals and is an invited speaker at national and international scientific symposiums. He has authored more than 140 scientific articles and 15 text book chapters and has presented papers and posters at over 100 national and international meetings. Dr. Manoharan served as vice chairman and a member of the International Bladder Cancer Guidelines committee, organized by the WHO and Société Internationale d’Urologie.
Srinivas Vourganti, MD
Dr. Vourganti is a robotic and minimally invasive urologic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of cancers of the prostate, bladder, kidney and ureter. He serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Urology at Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Vourganti received his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland. While completing his fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Vourganti collaborated with world experts in clinical care, basic science and engineering to develop new ideas and bring them to the clinic.
Dr. Vourganti’s research areas of interest include urologic cancer, prostate MRI, prostate cancer diagnosis and targeted therapy.
