How long have you been with AngioDynamics, and what do you do?

I have worked for AngioDynamics for 3 ½ years. My title is Clinical Safety Specialist and I work with the Clinical Affairs team. I oversee safety and adverse events that occur in our clinical trials. Portions of my job include collaborating with study physicians, research coordinators, oversight committee physicians, and Contract Research Organizations. I also work cross-functionally with our Sales, Regulatory, and Medical Education teams.

What do you find most challenging about your work?

There are a lot of moving parts to a clinical study, and it can be a challenge to manage all the details of multiple studies and the individuals associated with them at the same time. Strong organizational skills are a must for this position!

What do you like most about your work?

I enjoy being part of a collaborative team that works hard to achieve a successful clinical trial. There are many moving parts to running a clinical study and I appreciate effective communication between my team and the company. Having more than 25 years of experience in the clinical trials field, my team values my opinions and insight and that’s a great feeling!

What about AngioDynamics fascinated you to want to work for the company?

My past work experience in clinical trials mostly included enrolling patients into studies as a Research Nurse and then working with Contract Research Organizations to ensure study compliance and patient safety. I wanted to work for a Sponsor company and was waiting for the perfect fit, which I’ve found with AngioDynamics. It’s been rewarding to see our company grow so much in the time I’ve been here!

What has been your proudest moment at AngioDynamics?

I honestly have several proudest moments, but one that particularly stands out was when we launched two clinical studies around the same time last year. (PRESERVE and APEX-AV). There were plenty of behind-the-scenes requirements that were essential to start both studies, and it’s very rewarding to see it all fall into place after a lot of hard work was accomplished by our team. We are now enrolling patients in both studies and helping people every day.

Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?

In 10 years I see myself at AngioDynamics as part of an expansion for our Clinical Affairs department, allowing me to educate and make a difference in the lives of patients who benefit from AngioDynamics’ products and clinical studies.
